We’ve Put Our Experience to Work for a Lot of Forward Thinkers

PUBLIC CHARGING

Offering public charging can increase your visibility, improve your image and differentiate you from your competition. It can attract new people to your location and provide you with promotional and marketing opportunities that might not be available otherwise. In addition, your business may be eligible for federal tax deductions by investing in public charging.

Edison EV is busy getting a public charging infrastructure in place. Some of our completed projects include:

  • The Inland Empire Clean Fuel Corridor Project (co-funded by Southern California’s Riverside County Transportation Commission and San Bernardino Associated Governments) a network of 23 public charging stations at 14 sites with expansion capacity for 43 additional chargers. This is a unique partnership of businesses and the public sector along two major transportation corridors. Some of the well-known companies participating include:
    • Wal-Mart
    • Ontario Mills
    • Marriott Desert Springs Resort
    • Metrolink Stations
    • Denny’s Restaurant
    • Kaiser Permanente
    • Galleria at Tyler
    • Moreno Valley Mall

Other public charging sites now available include:

    • Kilovac
    • CALSTART
    • City of Burbank
  • Saturn Corporation - chargers and circuits at 24 retailers of the GM EV1 introduction in Southern California and Arizona

FUTURE PUBLIC CHARGING PROJECTS

Major efforts are already underway to create a public charging network. In the planning stages are:

  • The South Coast Air Quality Management District’s Quick Charge Program - more than 100 charging stations in 26 cities with Edison EV as a key player.

Edison EV is ready to work with your business to evaluate whether you may be an ideal candidate for a public charging station.

FLEET CHARGING

Many organizations are busy establishing fleets of electric vehicles - and Edison EV is there to support their infrastructure needs with our charging stations. The current projects include:

  • The United States Postal Service - five chargers in the Westminster, California Post Office
  • Southwest Airlines at the Ontario Airport - chargers and circuits for Southwest’s electric fleet of airplane tugs
  • Omnitrans - chargers for the transit agency’s electric vehicles

WORKPLACE CHARGING

Startup costs in this industry are reasonable. It is possible to start a vending machine route for less than a few thousand dollars. The work of a Vending machines business operator can be divided into two basic areas. As a vending machine business owner you can choose to work by yourself, with a partner or hire teams to work for you

By offering electric vehicle charging at your workplace, for employees, you have the chance to establish a leadership image for your company. It is an opportunity to position your company as environmentally concerned, innovative, forward-thinking, on the cutting edge, adventurous and unafraid of new challenges. In addition, it may help you to attract employees who are also socially conscious and opinion leaders.

Many companies are currently in the process of evaluating this option. Edison EV can work with you to ensure that you select the best location which includes the following considerations:

  • Convenient, high visibility location
  • Accessible source of adequate power
  • Well lit
  • Good vehicle security

BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES

EV drivers have stated that they are starting to plan their routes around the availability of public charging facilities and have indicated their intent to patronize businesses providing public charging.
