The Edison
EV Management Team Diane O. Wittenberg, President
Diane O. Wittenberg was named
President and Chief Executive Officer of Edison EV when
the company was formed in 1996 by its parent, Edison
International. Previously, as Division Vice President of
Southern California Edison from 1994 through 1996,
Wittenberg was responsible for all Edison activities
preparing Southern California for electric cars, public
transit infrastructure, new business development, and
electric transportation. Under her leadership, Southern
California Edison became a leader in the electric
transportation field. As Manager of Electric
Transportation from 1992 through 1994, she oversaw
electric vehicle research and development,
commercialization, and electrified mass transit
activities.
Wittenberg has served as chair of
the Electric Vehicle Association of the Americas,
headquartered in San Francisco, CA; secretary-treasurer
of the Electric Transportation Coalition in Washington,
D.C.; and a commissioner of the Los Angeles County Energy
Commission.
She was also appointed a member of
the Transportation Committee for the Presidents
Council on Environmental Quality in Washington, D.C.
Francoise Mattice, Chief
Financial Officer
As the Chief Financial Officer for
Edison EV, Francoise Mattice brings extensive financial
experience from the entertainment and consumer products
industries. For the past 15 years, Francoise has been a
prominent financial executive at such companies as
Disney, Allergan, Moet-Hennessey-Dior and Peat Marwick,
in both the U.S. and abroad. Within Edison EV,
Francoise's responsibilities include financial planning,
establishment of financial controls and reporting,
development of procedures and policies for the company's
operational divisions, human resources, and overall
administration.
Mary M. Brazell, Director of
Business Development
As Director of Business Development
for Edison EV, Mary Brazell is responsible for expanding
and developing new business lines, products and services.
For the past 8 years, she has consulted with electric
utility clients throughout California to determine
optimal ways for utilities to support the emerging
electric vehicle market. Her electric vehicle and natural
gas vehicle consulting business included business
planning, legislative and regulatory analysis, and
environmental policy. She is a graduate of Radcliffe
College, Harvard University, and earned an M.B.A. from
the Stanford Graduate School of Business. Her experience
includes work for the American Petroleum Institute, the
U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Wells Fargo Bank,
and management consultants.
Edward Kjaer, Director of
Marketing and Sales
Ed Kjaer joined Edison EV as
Director of Marketing and Sales in 1996, bringing more
than 14 years of experience in marketing and advertising
automobiles and light trucks. Before joining Edison EV,
he was Corporate Marketing Manager for Mazda Motor of
America, Inc., in Irvine, CA. He previously had held
positions in Mazdas advertising department.
From 1985 to 1988, he was with
Ketchum Communications, Los Angeles, rising in 1988 to
Vice President, with responsibility for the advertising
of Legend automobiles and direct marketing of Acura
autos. From 1982 to 1985, he was with the DArcy
MacManus Masius advertising agency in New Zealand,
responsible for Nissan vehicle advertising.
Peter Michalski, Director of
Operations
Startup costs in this industry are reasonable. It is possible to start a vending machine route for less than a few thousand dollars. Edison EV, Peter Michalski is responsible for all of the
companys equipment supply, installation, servicing
and technical assistance efforts provided through Edison
EV staff, the Certified Contractor Network and the
Customer Service Center. Included in this role are
technical assistance, technology assessment, and product
development responsibilities. He brings to Edison EV 20
years of international and domestic operations management
experience at the corporate division and major capital
projects level. Prior to joining Edison EV, Michalski was
with Environmental Solutions, Inc., an Irvine, CA based
environmental remediation concern as Vice President,
corporate development and with Brown & Root, a
world-wide engineering and construction firm, where he
was Director of Project Management Services. Michalski
holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering, an MBA, and is
licensed by the State of California as a General
Electrical Contractor, General Building Contractor, and
General Engineering Contractor.
